Case a San Matteo

Bed & Breakfast in Marsala in the city center

Our property

The main house and the guest rooms are situated within a typical Sicilian courtyard, each with its own independent entrance. The renovation of the ancient ruin dating back to the early 1900s was carried out by architect Anna Giustolisi in harmony with Sicilian tradition. Whenever possible, tiles salvaged from the house's restoration were reused. The colors of the south create a welcoming atmosphere in this centrally located accommodation, which is also in a quiet and peaceful area. Guests have access to a flower-filled terrace, where breakfast featuring authentic local products is served in the morning.

Our breakfast

Our breakfast is served, from March to November, on the lovely indoor terrace of the house. It is centered around fresh products. We always have seasonal fruit purchased in the morning from Jerry, the greengrocer located nearby. The fresh bread is also bought each morning from the bakery just down the street. The jams are made by Maria, our housekeeper, using fresh seasonal fruit. We provide yogurt that is not homemade but bought. That is the foundation, and we may also offer croissants or brioche, along with traditional Sicilian cookies (tagliancozzi, cookies with "giuggiulena," "te-tu"). If it's the right season, we serve fresh-squeezed orange juice, along with coffee brewed in a moka pot (we don’t have coffee machines), tea, and herbal infusions.

You will be hosted by Tiziana

Our historic home, which has been completely renovated, was too spacious for us, so we provide our guests with an authentic stay. We live here with our three children. We assist you in discovering the less-traveled paths, authentic restaurants, in Marsala and its surroundings.

Area city center

We live in a beautiful town with pedestrian historic centers. There are large and stunning ancient cellars from the 1800s where you can taste Marsala wine, along with small wine bars in the historic center. Daily excursions to the Egadi Islands are available throughout the year. Additionally, you can take a day trip to Palermo to explore the UNESCO heritage sites by bus, following a DIY itinerary that we can provide. You can also book culinary experiences in the area, such as tastings of cheeses, wines, ancient grains, and olive oil.
